Spent many years raising kids, going to school(s), and attempting to grow up. I worked many jobs while a student - became a journeyman Printer, Chief Jailer for the Scott County Sheriff's Dept., Park Ranger for Scott County and a self-employed Luthier (Eureka Strings), specializing in the repair of stringed instruments for professional musicians. And during all that, I kept up with photo darkroom work, doing custom prints for professionals, and contest entries. I currently have portfolio pictures on line for two Ujena Swimsuit Models, but most of my work is in the line of the restoration of 'Great Aunt Sally's Wedding'. Lot's of jobs, but I did finally find my ultimate calling. On the same day that I was to sit for the National Chiropractic Boards, I opted instead to take the city Fire Department agility test. Years of sitting in classrooms; then looking at years of being stuck in an office just didn't seem very enticing. I was soon hired by the Department (the oldest new hire, ever) and never looked back. Loved every minute of the work, and found I was an adrenalin junky. Still dream of the DFD on a regular basis, and have used my education to 'adjust' friends and family for the last 40 years or so. Got the best of the best, saving lives, and keeping others healthy. It's been an up & down ride, but I wouldn't change anything, except for those last last two humiliating weeks before graduation.
