I had just sent a message to Steve in February . He was my very 1st  friend when I moved to Shorline and our mothers met through us and were life long dear friends. I did not hear back from Steve . I am very sorry to hear of his passing and extend my thoughts to Gary and his family.

Steve was a lifelong friend.  We started playing guitar together in a band at Butler and continued through high school.  We visited them in Hawii a few times and then again on the Oregon coast in later years. His wife Kathy called us the day after he passed away.  Steve loved music and sailing. We will miss him greatly,

I didn't hang out with Steve much in school, just new he was a good guy.  Over the years however, I have recounted my big adventure of being in a rock'n'roll band to many friends and family.  Steve formed that band in our senior year, if my memory is correct.   Among other names we called it "The Surfin' Crusaders".  I was the last one to join, which is why my share of the gate was sometimes in dimes - nickles - quarters.  The band didn't survive long but it wasn't short on adventure.   Thanks Steve.
